Read the AMS condition literally
The manufacturer Wiki describes the hub as necessary to regulate filament tension when using the listed AMS generations with A1 mini. If you own an original AMS and do not have the hub, the configuration is not the one documented by that FAQ. The source describes a required accessory and system arrangement; it does not certify every cable, firmware, setup sequence or third-party adaptation. Check the latest A1 mini FAQ and confirm the hub part and installation details before relying on a result.
Keep material grades distinct
Bambu’s printer page lists common materials for the A1 mini, but product-specific guidance narrows the answer. The Bambu TPU 85A / 90A listing excludes TPU 85A for A-series printers and lists TPU 90A for the A-series. Both named TPU grades are excluded from AMS lite in that listing. This means “TPU works” is not a useful complete statement: hardness and feeder both change the decision. Generic TPU is not covered by a named-product ruling.
Check filled filament before loading
For abrasive blends such as PETG-CF, nozzle construction matters. The A1-series hotend chart and PETG-CF product page identify a hardened nozzle and exclude 0.2 mm for this material. The A1 mini Wiki also cautions about abrasive CF and GF filaments without a hardened nozzle. These sources support the specific hardware checks described here; they are not a blanket approval of every filled brand, feeder route, or print profile.
Do not infer spool fit
Feeder generation and spool geometry are separate questions. A material page saying a filament is compatible with an AMS does not establish that every reel fits, turns freely or feeds reliably. Bambu’s AMS lite listing was not directly fetched in the P0 audit, and physical fit for third-party spool brands remains unverified. If you cannot identify a manufacturer-documented spool and feeder combination, the tool returns Not verified instead of treating matching dimensions from a user report as proof.
Use this guide as a setup checklist
Record the A1 mini variant, feeder generation, whether the AMS hub is installed, exact material grade, spool brand and nozzle. Then read the source that addresses each relevant part. A positive printer/material statement cannot override a feeder exclusion or an unsuitable nozzle. The finder uses exact combinations from reviewed sources and marks gaps clearly. It is intentionally conservative while the source revision and setup details remain outside the evidence record.
Configuration snapshot
| Question | Source-based answer |
|---|---|
| Original AMS / AMS 2 Pro / AMS HT | Current Wiki says A1 mini can connect with the AMS hub accessory. |
| AMS lite | Listed for the A1 mini; TPU 85A/90A are separately excluded by the TPU product listing. |
| TPU 85A | Not listed for A-series printers in the named Bambu TPU listing. |
| PETG-CF | Requires the listed hardened nozzle conditions; 0.2 mm is excluded. |
Before you buy
- Identify feeder generation and confirm hub presence for original AMS family.
- Identify TPU grade precisely.
- Use a hardened nozzle for the documented abrasive blend.
- Treat unlisted spool brands and hardware revisions as not verified.
